One of the world’s largest banking and financial institutions decided to rapidly transition its HR department from Oracle PeopleSoft to SAP SuccessFactors, a new HR Direct Portal (ServiceNow), and People Insights. This transformation required a strict level of quality assurance: the testing of business processes needed to provide sufficient risk coverage, deliver high accuracy, and ensure a smooth go‑live.

Until then, regression testing consisted of a mix of unit‑level automated scripts and manual tests. The test suite contained a high degree of redundancy, which made test maintenance extremely difficult. In addition, the existing testing platform required highly specialized user knowledge, which further limited adoption and the overall level of automation.
